Crime can happen anywhere but there are indicators available to help you select a community with a lower risk. The Internet has several great resources for crime data for communities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The APB/Neighborhood CrimeCheck predictive rating uses individual zip codes and a rating scale between 1 and 10 to provide an indication of the risk of violent crime (homicide, rape, and robbery). The developers use 21 neighborhood/demographic variables which have been found to be indicators of crime.
